With over 300 million users, filtering through Instagram’s legions of stylish bloggers, editors, models and designers and their excellently curated feeds is no mean feat. If you’re anything like us, turning that blue button green inevitably prompts a domino effect that sees you up your following count by not one but fifteen people.
On top of that, whether you’re seeking streetwear inspiration, ideas for innovative formalwear getups or a new way to incorporate accessories into your look, you don’t always know if what works for them is necessarily going to work for you.
But we’re here to help. We pinpointed five of our favourite well-dressed Instagrammers to breakdown their many-liked looks and show you how you can switch up your wardrobe by emulating their bravura.
Phil Green
Green will probably be known to most as one part of the fashion collective Sartorial 7: a group of impeccably dressed globetrotters who have fronted campaigns for brands such as Reiss, Scotch & Soda and Hackett. But Scotsman Green is also a personal shopper for FarFetch, and the man behind an Instagram feed that epitomises what it means to be a modern gentleman.
Rarely seen without an immaculately tailored two- or three-piece suit, Green often builds his look around a predominantly blue palette. His feed features a mix of navy, cobalt and sapphire, which are frequently blended with earthier tones – a pair of brown Oxford shoes, for example, or a mossy green necktie.
Featuring snaps from all over the world, including New York, Berlin and Cannes, the backdrop for most of Green’s meticulously tailored looks is London – in all its soaked pavement glory.
For Green, tailoring in blues and browns are best. Hackett, Reiss and Suitsupply all come recommended for suits in these colours, while the look can be elevated with a statement tie or pocket square from Drake’s or Eton of Sweden.
On warmer days, a white T-shirt worn underneath a blazer and teamed with suit trousers can look just as dapper. Or, for something more smart-casual, try subbing in a pair of slim-fit indigo jeans from Acne Studios or A.P.C. for the suit trousers.

Adam Gallagher
Whether he’s touring the White House in DC, chilling in Montenegro or exploring Ibiza, Gallagher has the unmatched ability to match his outfit to his surroundings. It’s what makes his travel and menswear blog, IAmGalla.com, truly original.
Gallagher’s exceptional ability to document his #OOTDs, as well as his travels, helps to populate an Instagram feed with photos that look like they’ve been ripped out of the pages of some of the world’s finest lifestyle publications.
His style is, in a way, informed by every corner of the globe he’s covered – with hints of Italian tailoring here and laid-back Cali-inspired cool there. It’s relaxed and comfortable, yet carefully constructed and always sophisticated, making use of versatile pieces from the likes of Ted Baker, Uniqlo, J.Crew, Club Monaco and lesser-known North American brand Express.
If you’re someone who has taken to the way Gallagher dresses, Uniqlo may be your best bet. The Japanese retailer’s focus on quality and fabrications combined with its affordable prices sees it second to none in terms of the casual and smart-casual separates that Gallagher so often relies on.
This Instagrammer is also worth looking to for accessories inspiration. He smartens up his shirts and chinos combinations with watches from Caravelle New York, Withings, and Gucci, mixing in a sun hat and a pair of shades from Ray-Ban for warmer locales.

Steven Onoja
Interested in art from a young age, Nigeria-born Onoja worked in a gallery and entered art competitions before taking his love for all things aesthetic in a different direction.
Now a style blogger based in New York, this Instagrammer often likes to infuse a little of the 1950s into his everyday apparel, with suiting and smart-casual ensembles that hark back to mid-century menswear while still looking modern.
Often playing around with subtle tones that complement each other, Onoja brightens up his look with bold primary colours like red and yellow, as well as eye-catching checks and stripes – if you’re searching for pattern mixing inspiration, look no further.
Additionally, Onoja knows a thing or two about headwear, topping off his tailored and slightly more streetwear-inspired looks with a pork pie, fedora or beanie.
Owing to a feed chock full of slick cars, backstage fashion week antics and some of Brooklyn’s most stunning architecture, Onoja definitely earns the title of New York’s finest. Follow him to learn how mixing neutral tones with a pop of colour can work remarkably well and how integrating various textures and patterns into one outfit – such as chevrons and gingham – can be impressively chic when executed properly.

Justin Livingston
In between creative consulting and writing, this New Yorker also finds time to head his very own lifestyle blog, Scout Sixteen.
What separates Livingston from the horde of other style bloggers is how he matches his enthusiasm for fashion and travel with his interest in food and design – and his colourful social media feeds are testament to the fact.
It’s here that you’ll find Livingston’s very own take on streetwear, in addition to envy-inducing seafood platters and Thai food, side by side with shots of the most gorgeous landscapes from across the world.
Style-wise, Livingston favours dark wash jeans, beanies and minimal sneakers, making him one of the more casually dressed guys on our list. You’ll also see him in baseball caps, denim shirts and leather jackets, or when switching for something smarter: short-sleeved shirts, loafers and slim chinos.
In a brilliantly art directed demonstration of ‘less is more’, Justin proves just how sophisticated casual staples can be. He’s definitely worth the follow if you’re wanting to dress down your dapper garb or smarten up your everyday jeans and T-shirts.

Bilal Güçlü
Despite having over 35,000 followers, Istanbul-based Bilal Güçlü remains relatively under the radar in comparison to his some of his listmates. What we know for sure, though, is that this man can teach you a thing or two about dressing a muscular frame.
Seen in exceptionally well-fitting shirts, polos, unlined blazers and slim chinos, Güçlü’s look is semi-formal tailoring at its boldest and best. While many of us struggle to match a shirt with a pair of trousers, this Instagrammer effortlessly mixes four different colours (some of them bold primary or bright pastel hues) together in a single ensemble.
To emulate Güçlü’s look, we suggest going for a well-fitting statement blazer from brands such as Suitsupply, Massimo Dutti or J.Crew, combined with slim-fitting trousers or chinos from high street favourites like Zara, Mango or John Lewis.
When he’s not opting to go sockless, you can often see Güçlü sporting a pair of bold coloured or patterned socks, along with his signature braces. For the former, try Paul Smith or Pantherella, while for the latter look to gentlemanly outfitters such as Austin Reed or Thomas Pink.
